What’s up, smarks? Welcome to another edition of The Underground Recount. This time, we got a few questions – will Sexy Star get revenge on Son of Havoc? Who is the man who will come in to destroy Blue Demon Jr? Will I stop thirsting over Matt Striker? All that and more on this episode.

We open up with the three thugs that closed out last week’s show. The bald guy is Cortez Castro, and the guy in the bandana is Cisco. Big Ryck calls out Johnny Mundo, and he comes out, as does Prince Puma. Cueto follows suit and says if they’re gonna fight in the ring, may as well make it official.
This is exactly what I wanted to see after seeing the two stand tall, then beaten down last week. Another great showing from those two. Cisco and Cortez are ok, but not the highlight, because it would be very hard to be the highlight with those two men as your opponents. Big Ryck is smoking the whole time at the stairs, which just kind of genuinely sucks rather than be proper heel heat because he’s right next to the crowd. Dual 450 splashes from the goodies end the match.
Backstage, Konnan isn’t too pleased with Puma for coming to the aid of Johnny Mundo because it wasn’t his fight, and in this world, Puma only has one ally he can trust – Konnan.
A Thousand Deaths; Maybe Less, Maybe More.
We get a video package on the mysterious new talent, Mil Muertes. A woman tells us a thousand deaths are coming. I thought there would be more but that’s really the whole package. I like the title I gave it, though, so I’ll cover the next match in this segment too.
Son of Havoc teams up with Ivelisse to take on Chavo and Sexy Star. That’s right, Sexy might just get her revenge tonight. Chavo is also looking for a win after suffering the first loss in LU. We start with the men in the ring, but of course what we’re all here to see is Sexy Star get revenge on Son of Havoc. Chavo hits Son of Havoc with the 5 Star Frog Splash, but tags in to Sexy Star to give her the pin. I’m open to the idea of intergender wrestling but a little skeptical but this match helped sell me on the idea.
To the locker room, Blue Demon Jr is working out, when he feels someone poke him. But no one’s there.Then a woman appears in front of him. Her name is Catrina and she’s an associate of Mil Muertes. She licks him right on the mask, telling him “A taste before a thousand deaths”. Blue Demon wipes his face because ew, cooties.
We then see another promo package on Prince Puma. He says a close friend, someone we all might know, found Puma. I don’t know who he’s alluding to but I’d hazard a guess to Rey Mysterio considering he’s a huge name and they were both friends in WCW. Plus, Rey was about to become a free agent. Maybe we’ll see him here, who knows?
I was going to make this match its own segment, but it still fits the title so here we are. Again, apologies for how short this is, future installments will be longer. Mil gets a kiss from Catrina, and then he goes over to attack Demon.
Mil takes down Demon with the Flatliner. Mil has some sort of stone that he hits Demon with. We don’t know what it is just yet. Chavo comes out to save Demon, who he faced in the first LU match ever. However, he hits Demon with the chair. He’s embittered by his loss in that first match and wants to prove that the Guerrero family is number 1, not Blue Demon’s. He beats refs, some no name luchas, and even Sexy Star who comes out to plead with him.
He continues to beat down Demon, even when he’s taken out on a stretcher.
That’s the sour note we end on this week. So far that’s two for two on Lucha Underground having downer endings. Will next week have a good ending? Tune in to The Underground Recount to find out!
