Pops & Botches: Black Label Pro’s We’re Back! – 8.22.2020

Welcome once again, your trusty Indie reporter Anthony here with another Pops & Botches for you! This time, I present Black Label Pro’s, second show from this past Saturday, We’re Back!

POP: Rip Shitty Shooters

The opening match was a good little contest between Indie Vet Gary Jay aka Stiff Robo Ginger, and the up and coming Joshua Bishop. Gary Jay has been wrestling for seventeen years and, not surprisingly, he’s fought a who’s who of Indie wrestling. Bishop has been around for three years now and has been a part of BLP’s main heel faction, Blood Diamond. He’s also in a tag team called, The Rip City Shooters with Wes Barkley. This match was very competitive and ended when Bishop took advantage of the No DQ stipulation with help Barkley to defeat Jay. Boo!!!

Heels doing heel shit.

POP: Tre(y) Squared

The second match on the card was between soon to be superstar, Tre Lamar, and Impact wrestling’s Trey Miguel. Lamar has been talked about quite a bit, in these parts, as he is a favorite of mine. Miguel, is someone I’ve seen live before, RIP Wrestlecircus, along with his fellow Rascalz, Zachary Wentz and Dezmond Xavier. To say this match had my interest would be an understatement.

The finish came when Miguel hit a meteora on Lamar for the win.

With Lamar hanging out in Impact land, I hope we see these guys face off again.

POP: Dad, Not Daddy. He comes later.

Oh my lord, did I love this next match! It was billed as a four man scramble match but, it was not like a GCW scramble, this was its own thing. And, it was a thing of beauty. The four competitors in this match were: Dan The Dad, “Manscout” Jake Manning, Cabana Man Dan, and Colin Delaney. This was a comedy match. That’s a compliment. Its also another one of those matches where I don’t want to give anything away because, it was so much fun! I will give you this tease and tell you to go sign up for IWTV right now.

POP: Tag Team Title Matchausen

We got our first title match of the show and it is for the BLP Tag Team Titles! The champs, representing 2 and a 1/2 Menhausen are “All Ego” Ethan Page and Danhausen. If you haven’t seen Dauhausen before, you’re missing out. His partner, Ethan Page, is one half of The North. Their opponents were The Besties In The World, Davey Vega and Matt Fitchett. This was a very good tag match, that had Vega making the mistake of offending Danhausen, and a little Tequila action. Think Pee-Wee Herman dancing to Tequila but, with kicks, from Danhausen! Sadly, Danhausen and Page couldn’t stop the Besties from capturing the tag titles in their debut.

Supplemental POP for The Besties In The World entering to Savage Garden. I am truly, madly, deeply in love.

POP: Nostalgia or Suck Daddy

We have our first of two matches featuring some former WWF/E wrestlers. This match up featured our Daddy, EFFY, versus Gangrel. Yes, that Gangrel. No, you have stumbled upon a Retro Pops & Botches this is happening in 2020.

Folks, let me tell you, Gangrel looked great! He and EFFY had a fantastic match where EFFY was aiming to get Gangrel to make him immortal.

Gangrel was a little put off by this though so, Gangrel decided to whip some ass instead!

Damn, Gangrel can still go! It wasn’t enough to get the win though, as EFFY outsmarted Gangrel with a roll up when Gangrel went in for the bite. Sneaky Daddy.

POP: Nostalgia Part 2 or Something, something

Our next match, featuring a former WWF/E guy, saw newly crowned BLP Heavyweight Champion Jake Something fight “The Masterpiece” Chris Masters. I promise, this is not a rib.

Something, fresh off his mugging off Calvin Tankman, was pushed to his limits by Masters who looked better than I ever remember him looking in the ring. Something got the win after he broke out of the masterlock with a low blow, allowing him to hit the blackhole slam for the pin. Jerk.

More Time Please

We got ourselves a match between Elayna Black and Billie Starkz. Good news, this is a glimpse of a very bright future in Women’s wrestling. Bad news, it was just a glimpse. I hope to see these two fight again, and hopefully given more time to do it. Not too much shade though, they got more time than any women did on the Erick Stevens show.

POP: If We Churn, Churn, Churn, Churn

Holy crap! I had no expectations for this match and not only did it pop me, it was my second favorite on the show. “The Amish Wolverine” Levi Everett and “Big Beef” Gnarls Garvin. These two had a fucking HOSS FIGHT! Shit got real from the get-go when Beef broke Everett’s butter churner.

Seriously, don’t fuck with an Amish dude and his butter churner! Too bad Levi was unable to channel that anger into a victory.

Beef did have help.

If you don’t know who Mickie is, look her up, you won’t be disappointed.

POP: Lance Is Gonna Hate This

The main event was for the BLP Midwest Championship. It was an intergender match that featured, “All Heart”, my Ginger Messiah, Blake Christian, and the champ “Smiley”, “MDK”, Kylie Rae. I won’t spend too much time talking about the name mentioned above but, I will say if we get rid of intergender wrestling we will be deprived of some of the best matches we have seen or have yet to see. I love both of these wrestlers! The two of them in a match together was pure bliss, and don’t let the smile fool you, Kylie Rae is here to wreck shop.

This was the match of the night. Honestly, the match of the day, possibly the weekend. Christian and Rae laid it all out there and delivered a classic

Watch this match!

😍

There you have it! Another Pops & Botches in the books for Black Label Pro, who has become one of my favorite indie companies going right now. Please check them out on IWTV and follow them on Twitter. No, neither company pays me. I do it for the love of indie wrestling.

I’ll be back later with a P&B for Beyond Wrestling’s Wear Sunscreen. Once again, thanks for reading, be safe and take care.
