Steel Ring Post was originally born in the long, long ago – way back in 2015.
This was before the Cubs won the world series. Before the Cavs won the NBA title. Before Ghostbusters got a remake (and then ignored it and made a sequel anyways). Before COVID-19 led to a game show host becoming Mayor of America.
Geez… it’s starting to make sense how ‘history’ got so muddled in the Time Masheen at the end of Idiocracy.
Anyways. A blog was built in 2015 and nothing really came of it.
Enter 2020.
This has been a weird year. One of the very good things to come out of it, though, has been the nuke that went off in the pro wrestling community known as #SpeakingOut. Sexual abuse has been called out in the wrestling scene – first starting with the UK indie scene and quickly spreading to North America. One of the casualties of the movement was the Uproxx pro wrestling vertical as their EIC was subject to many accusations of sexual abuse himself.
It was the death of that specific community that spurred the relaunch of Steel Ring Post. Not out of respect or loyalty to the aforementioned EIC. Fuck that guy. Rather, to help find a place for the community to continue the conversation.
So, if you’re looking for a place to read funny, snarky recaps of fake underwear fighting, you’re in the right spot.
There’s also a super active Discord server made up of a bunch of people from the Uproxx comment section. Check that out for all of your live TV live discussion thread cravings!

- This isn’t a dirt sheet. We’re not covering rumors. Everyone writing for this site is doing it as a volunteer / hobbyist. If it’s not something that genuinely interests us, we’re not gonna write about. We don’t care about clicks!
- Ads. We don’t need them. Enjoy the site loading quickly without a billion popups.
- Assholes. We don’t want them writing for us. We don’t want them commenting on stuff. If you come across something in a post or comment that isn’t cool, please let us know and we’ll root it out ASAP.
