- Triple HHH & Stephanie McMahon opened the show to hype the “Season Premiere” of Smackdown, running through the show’s card for the evening while the entire roster stood on the entrance ramp. Eventually a fight broke out between all the men, culminating in Lars Sullivan showing up & beating down a bunch of guys.
- Lars Sullivan defeated Jeff Hardy
Hardy hit a Twist Of Fate on Sullivan & went to climb the top rope for a Swanton Bomb. Lars popped up as Hardy got there & grabbed him for The Freak Accident, resulting in the pin. - A Bianca Belair hype video aired for her arrival on Smackdown.
- The New Day defeated Cesaro, Sheamus & Shinsuke Nakamura
This was touted as New Day’s “Farewell Match” with them doing a touching promo about their time together leading up to The WWE Draft splitting them apart. Woods & E combined for The Midnight Hour on Sheamus for the victory. - Otis was interviewed backstage & asked about his lawsuit with Miz. Before he could answer, Sami Zayn interrupted to mock him for losing Tucker & Mandy to RAW. Otis responded by shoving him down.
- Daniel Bryan came down to the ring to say he’s excited to be back & face some of the new faces on Smackdown. Seth Rollins interrupted & proposed Bryan become his new disciple. Bryan called the idea dumb, so Rollins attacked him. Bryan got the upper hand & as Seth tried to run away, The Mysterios showed up to chase him back to the ring. Murphy then ran out & after feigning being on Rollins’ side, tackled him & sent him out of the ring. Murphy tried to shake hands with The Mysterios after, but they refused & left.
- Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match: Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode defeated The Street Profits (c) (DQ)
Ford entered the match without tagging in, so the referee disqualified the team. Roode & Ziggler beat up Dawkins after, but Ford hit them both with a cross body from the top to send them fleeing. - Sasha Banks & Bayley had a contract signing for their championship match at Hell In A Cell. Sasha signed & then declared Bayley had been nothing without her help all this time & she’ll win when they face off. Bayley got up & left without signing the contract.
- Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) defeated Braun Strowman
Strowman kicked out of a Spear & then lifted Reigns up for a powerslam. Reigns countered into a Guillotine Choke & Strowman passed out, so the referee called for the bell. After the match, Jey Uso came out to the ramp & Roman speared Braun while Jey looked on. Roman then hit Strowman with a chair a bunch, explaining this would be Jey’s fate for their match unless Jey joins him going forward. Roman offered Jey the chair to hit Braun, but he eventually refused & attacked Roman. Reigns got the better of him & Superman Punched him, then left the ring as the show went off the air.
