  • Vince McMahon opened the show in his office instructing Adam Pearce to get contract signatures from The Fiend, Braun Strowman & Roman Reigns for their triple threat match at Payback.
  • Jeff Hardy came to the ring issuing an open challenge for The Intercontinental Championship. AJ Styles interrupted saying he was cheated last week out of the title. Jeff Hardy refused to give Styles the open challenge opportunity & punched him in the face.
  • Intercontinental Championship Match: Jeff Hardy (c) defeated Shinsuke Nakamura
    Hardy connected with The Twist of Fate into The Swanton Bomb for the win. After the match, Sami Zayn returned with his Intercontinental Championship & kicked Jeff Hardy in the face on the entrance ramp.
  • The Firefly Funhouse aired with Bray Wyatt celebrating his Universal Championship win. Adam Pearce rang the doorbell & showed up as “Postman Pearce” in postal worker outfit & got Bray to sign the contract for the main event at Payback.
  • Matt Riddle came down to the ring & challenged King Corbin to a match. Corbin’s music hit & as he walked down the ramp, Chad Gable jumped Riddle from behind in the ring.
  • Matt Riddle defeated Chad Gable
    Riddle hit The Bro Derek & pinned Gable. Corbin attacked Riddle after, but Riddle gained the upper hand & chased him off. Later backstage, Corbin declared the two will face each other at Payback.
  • Sasha Banks & Bayley did a promo in the ring with Bayley confident they’ll retain their tag titles at Payback with Sasha still looking upset about her loss to Asuka. Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax interrupted on The Tron, saying they’re going to beat them Sunday.
  • Backstage, Pearce asked Drew Gulak if he’d seen Braun Strowman & Gulak was also looking for him for attacking him last week. Gulak saw Braun across the room & hit him in the back with a chair. Strowman was unfazed, so Gulak tossed the chair to Pearce & ran away. Strowman said he’d sign the contract if he got a match with Gulak.
  • Sami Zayn tried to reunite with Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura in The Champion’s Lounge, but they kicked him out.
  • Braun Strowman defeated Drew Gulak
    Strowman squashed Gulak & pinned him with The Running Powerslam.
  • Cesaro defeated Kalisto
    Kalisto asked the rest of LHP to stay backstage, so Cesaro & Nakamura jumped them before the match. LHP came down at the end of the match & attacked Nakamura, distracting Kalisto & Cesaro rolled him up. After the match, LHP argued in the ring.
  • Backstage, Nikki Cross & Tamina wondered aloud where Alexa Bliss has been. Alexa returned sporting a dreadlock in her hair, which Nikki pointed out her displeasure with as it reminded her of The Fiend. Alexa got angry & smashed the coffee mug she gave Nikki to start their friendship.
  • Big E & Heavy Machinery defeated Miz, Morrison & Sheamus
    Sheamus bailed on the match after not getting tagged in after a while by Miz or Morrison. Left three on two, Big E was able to hit Miz with The Big Ending for the victory.
  • Back in Roman’s locker room, Pearce got Reigns to sign the contract for Sunday. Reigns said him winning was not a prediction, but a spoiler. The camera slowly panned over to show Paul Heyman by his side.
