Here are your quick & dirty results for the July 29, 2020 editions of both AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT.
AEW Dynamite
- Best Friends & Friends defeated The Inner Circle via pinfall when Luchasaurus pinned Sammy Guevara (after a Matt Hardy distraction)
- Cody Rhodes defeated Warhorse via pinfall
- Dark Order members John Silver & Alex Reynolds attacked Cody and Warhorse after the match. Matt Cardona made his AEW debut to save Cody from the Dark Order beatdown
- Tony Schiavone attempted to tell us about AEW All Out, but was interrupted by The Inner Circle. Chris Jericho announced the he and Orange Cassidy will have a rematch on August 12th, but next week – on Super Wednesday – he and Cassidy will face off in a debate with a very special guest moderator. Santana informed Jericho that his jacket now smells like cat pee
- FTR signed their AEW contracts with the assistance of Arn Anderson. We learned that all FTR matches will officially adhere to traditional tag team wrestling rules (i.e., 10-counts for one wrestler to clear the ring after a tag, tag ropes, etc.). We also learned that August 12th’s ‘Super Wednesday’ episode of Dynamite will also be ‘Tag Team Appreciation Night’ with FTR hosting
- “Hangman” Adam Page & Kenny Omega defeated Dark Order via pinfall – AEW World Tag Team Championships
- After the match, Dark Order’s forces came out in full to match up with Page, Omega, and the Young Bucks. FTR joined The Elite to even the odds. Later, a 12-man match was announced for next week
- Dr. Britt Baker, DMD announced that Big Swole will get a match with her at All Out… if Swole can beat an opponent of Baker’s choosing
- Hikaru Shida defeated Diamante via pinfall – Non-title match
- MJF delivered his State of the Industry address. As a wrestling promo, he ended up challenging Mox for a title shot All Out. As a political rally… well, he might end up winning Florida in November
- Jon Moxley & Darby Allin defeated “Absolute” Ricky Starks & Brian Cage via pinfall when Allin pinned Starks after a thumbtack-filled skateboard acid drop from the top rope on Starks’ back
- After the match, it was announced that next week’s main event will be Darby Allin vs. Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship
WWE NXT
- NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai & Tegan Nox defeated Candice LeRae & Dakota Kai via pinfall
- Johnny Gargano defeated Roderick Strong via pinfall
- Keith Lee faced off with Karrion Kross setting up a future NXT Championship match
- Imperium defeated Ever-Rise via pinfall
- The Undisputed Era attacked Imperium after the match
- Isaiah “Swerve” Scott defeated Jake Atlas via pinfall
- Dexter Lumis defeated Timothy Thatcher and Finn Bálor via submission – Triple Threat Match for North American Title Ladder Match at TakeOver XXX
